Armwork & Drills Workshop
May 2nd, 14:00 - 16:00
The workshop draws from Piny's rich dance background. We will dive into arms & hands movements, patterns and drills, bringing vocabulary from Vogue, Waacking and Waving. These influences are woven into a fusion bellydance framework, emphasizing expressive lines, dynamic pathways, intrinsic patterns and intentional use of the arms. Through fluid drills and practical combinations, dancers will explore clarity, strength, and flow, developing armwork that feels powerful, musical, and fully integrated into the body.
Orchidaceae Fusion Combos Workshop
May 3rd, 13:00 - 15:00
Orchidaceae Fusion Combos is where students can feel and dive into Piny Orchidaceae signature fusion combinations and particularity of creating them and teaching. Some will come from the Orchidaceae repertoire through the years and others will flow in place. The focus is to learn small parts of choreography or small combinations, where technique will be required more than broken through and flowing from intuition or years of vocabulary development. It's an intermediate level workshop based on different dance vocabularies.
Both Workshops
May 2nd, 14:00 - 16:00 & May 3rd, 13:00 - 15:00
You want to attend both workshops? Book them for a reduced price. Note that all prices include ALSO access to the lecture on Sunday and the jam session on Friday.

The event also features a fusion bellydance show with many international dancers!
Date: 2nd May, 19:30 h
“It’s an honour to be able to go back to Berlin to teach, it has been a while.
As time passes we change and the world changes and we change again with the world. We grow, we adapt.
For the ones who know me and have already studied with me it’s a pleasure to be with you again in studio, for the new ones a warm welcome.
In this intensive we will have space to discuss a lot about what is this dream space we create in fusion, what bodies access this information and from where we come and to where we can go. It’s a work that requires deep responsibility and, at the same time, a lot of research, imagination and speculative capacity. We will work from what each one of you brings and, at the same time, trying to undress pre conceived ideas and together find new roads to walk.
Fusion is not an exact science. It work on layers of subjectivity, artistry, politics, technique, ownership, ancestry, future, migrations, belonging, intellectuality and so much more. It’s not comfortable and it lays on conversations of power systems, privilege and reparation. At the same time it is a fertile ground of expression and creation, that is available to everybody.
For this group what I ask is availability to discuss our own space and place. To dive deep in the body and mind, knowing that the crossroads, doubts and mistakes are spaces of profound growth. And I never discard pleasure, sensitivity and intuition.
My tools come from my studies since 20 years ago in Raqs Sharki and fusions of bellydance, and a continuous belonging in street, clubbing and ballroom dance cultures. I studied architecture and I’m a contemporary dance choreographer deeply engaged in creating spaces for my communities. I engage in practices and studies of astrology, tarot, yoga and Vedanta, weaving meanings and futures of speculative possibilities.
Welcome.”

Piny Orchidaceae — Dance Artist, Teacher & Choreographer
Born in Lisbon of Angolan descent, Piny Orchidaceae is a multidisciplinary dancer, performer, researcher, and teacher whose work spans contemporary, street, clubbing, and fusion dance forms. With roots in North African dance and a deep immersion in Hip Hop culture, she has been exploring and blending movement vocabularies — from Raqs Sharqi to House, Waacking, Vogue, and Breakdance — since the early 2000s.
Piny holds degrees in Architecture and Contemporary Dance, and in 2006 she co-founded the female breakdance crew ButterflieSoulFlow. In 2012 she founded the Orchidaceae collective, a creative home for the fusion of street, clubbing, and “bellydance” vocabularies. She has performed and taught across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, bringing a thoughtful and decolonial approach to movement, technique, and cultural dialogue.
Her classes are known for their blend of technical precision, improvisational freedom, and embodied awareness — inviting dancers to move beyond boundaries and connect deeply with body, music, and community.
